Wayne Barnard

Focused on outcomes Wayne is a serial entrepreneur. Leading several notable M&A activities in the textile industry Wayne has worked in Seattle, Toronto, Mexico, San Francisco, London, Turkey, Egypt and Singapore. Major M&A activities have totaled more than $750 million dollars working with leading Private Equity companies in the USA & Europe.

Wayne understands businesses and people has the innovative mind, communication skills, tenacity, and experiences that enable him to see the opportunity of a transaction and orchestrate the deal. Working with sellers Wayne helps them recognize their weaknesses and strengths and build the opportunity. On the buy side, Wayne designs innovative valuation models that facilitate ROI and strategies for working with creditors & investors.

His approach is to start with developing a business strategy. Wayne leads owners and leadership to build for the opportunity. Often times this can mean working with critical customers to align his client’s vision with that of their customers. Wayne has international connections that can fund transactions and he plays an integral role in enabling the deal timeline. For his clients, Wayne often designs liquidity strategies that form the foundation for the existing owner’s exit strategy.

In 2007 Wayne founded Barnard Howard LLC, a boutique consulting practice that engages employed and contracted consultants providing change, program, and financial management services along with interim COO & CFO functions to companies in a range of industries including, textile & apparel, healthcare, aerospace, and logistics. Barnard Howard has worked with clients in the US & internationally, leveraging lean, Six Sigma and proprietary methods.

During the 2002 through 2006, Wayne held executive operational roles in several early stage companies delivering top line revenue numbers of 15% to 20% quarter on quarter growth while tuning and refining operational performance.

Other earlier activities included:

Program Management Consulting in the USA, England, and Mexico;

During the late ‘90’s Wayne leveraged his accounting & finance experience gained at Ernst & Young, and built a project management and accounting practice that he sold to DMR [Fujitsu Consulting].

Recruited by Ernst & Young in Toronto, Wayne developed compensation & tax planning simulation models for use with high net worth individuals and privately held businesses.

Wayne started his career as an economic Forecasting Consultant and developed a load forecasting application to evaluate the ROI of billion-dollar power generating facility buildouts. The application was leveraged by mega power utilities in Canada, US North East, and South America. The model enabled scenario analysis that mitigated risks incorporating the dynamics of social, environmental and social change.

Degree in Economics from York University, Toronto, Canada, 1981 along with studies in Accounting & Finance
